Frequently Asked Questions

Q. The costumes look short, are they as short as they look?

A. No they aren’t, bear in mind the models are around 5’10” and in some cases an E cup, the people that wear and love our costumes are all different shapes, sizes and ages.

 

Q. How does the hire process work?

A. Choose the item/s you want to hire and the date required  (the date you actually need them for as we will send a day or 2 before this), the date returned will be 2-3 days later. Add them to your cart and proceed through the checkout, our system will work out the bond required that we hold until the item/s are returned to us. Choose either 1 way or return courier (if you choose return courier we will send a courier bag for you to return them in). Once you checkout we receive your order with all the details, we will normally email to confirm the order then send you an email with the tracking number when its on its way. After the hire period (normally over the weekend) you return to us either by tracked courier or the return courier bag we sent you. Send your account details with the return so can refund your bond.

 

Q. What does SM mean?

A. these are the sizes eg XS=extra small, SM=small/medium, ML=medium/large etc

 

Q. What is the best way to alter the costumes if the pants are too long?

A. the best way is with minimal damage to the fabric, with pants you can fold the extra hem under and use a strong tape like duct tape/medical tape to stick the hem down.

 

Q. With the contact lenses, what does 1 day, 1 month mean?

A. That is the shelf life of the lenses once opened, provided they are kept clean and stored in the lens case with solution.

 

Q. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank deposit, Credit Card, eftpos and Cash

 

Q. How quickly can I get a costume?
A. If the costume is In Stock/Available and you can pay straight away, you can have it the next working day.

 

Q. Im in Auckland, can I hire a costume?
A. Yes, we courier the costumes to anywhere in New Zealand, and sometimes beyond.

 

Q. What if it is the wrong size?
A. Unfortunately, if you are hiring the costume, it is unlikely we could get you a different size on time (but we do try!), and you will still be charged – so check the measurements to be certain.
If you are buying the outfit, we can exchange for a different size or item.

 

Q. How much is the bond?
A. The bond is generally half the hire fee.

 

Q. How long do we have the costume for?
A. The hire fee is for 2 nights but we send the costumes a few days earlier when possible.

 

Q. Can I come and try the costumes on?
A. Yes you are more than welcome to view/try on the costumes, we are in Tauranga, currently at 173 11th ave.

 

Q. Are all your costumes displayed on the website?
A. Yes. However sometimes we can order other costumes in especially, given enough time, and we often have some single items available in store eg-waistcoats, jackets, russian, egyptian etc.

 

Q. How much is the courier?
A. The courier cost depends on the size of the costume, most items are around $6.00-$12.00 nationwide and for larger/multiple items we will email you the extra costs

 

Q. Do I wash the costume?
A. No, we do this ourselves. Sometimes washing the costume will damage it.

 

Q. Do you sell your items on trade me?
A. Under our trade me name “wearitout” we sometimes sell some of our items. Be wary as most of the costumes on trade me are cheaper imitations. We can order in the cheaper imitation costumes to keep the cost down for you, and are starting to put some on our website under “costumes” then “buy”

 

Q. Are all your items in stock?
 A. All of the HIRE costumes, shoes and accessories on the website, we have in store and will be in stock unless out on hire.  For PURCHASES, we have a fair bit in store but if we need to order in, it will take 7-15 days to get to you, sometimes a style/size may be temporarily out of stock – so always best to check with us before you order to double check.
